Wide Belt

En el look de hoy decidí probar una tendencia que no había usado para el blog -cinturones anchos- Los hemos visto a la cintura y cadera, y su tamaño va desde algo moderado cómo el que estoy usando, hasta increíblemente gigantes (CLICK). Éste cinto es uno de mis tesoros vintage y quisiera probar también la tendencia del cinto oversized a la cintura (uno mucho menos grande que el de Vera Wang claro, desde que vi éste cinto de Michael Kors CLICK no logro quitármelo de la cabeza) En fin, el look de hoy es algo súper sencillo que usé para ir al cine hace poco mas de una semana (pueden notar que la temperature era muy cálida) una blusa básica de rayas no necesita más que accesorios, un cinto y zapatos llamativos para dejar de verse ordinaria. Justo ahora que escribo éste post estoy sufriendo disfrutando de una sobredosis de moda gracias a MBFWNY, intentaré sintetizar mis pensamientos lo más posible y compartirles un post muy inspirador de mis looks favoritos hasta ahora.

 

In today’s look I decided to try a trend that I had never worn for the blog -Wide Belts- We have seen them over the waist and hips, and their size goes from something moderate to incredibly giants (CLICK). This belt is one of my vintage treasures and I would like to try oversized belt over the waist trend (one a little bit smaller than Vera Wang’s of course, since I saw this Michael Kors belt CLICK  I can’t take it out of my mind) Today’s look is something super simple that I wore to the movie teather over a week ago (you may notice that the temperature was warm) a basic striped blouse needs nothing more than accessories, belt and flashy shoes to stop being ordinary. Right now as I’m writting this post I’m suffering enjoying of fashion overdose thanks to  MBFWNY, I will try to summarize my thoughts as much as possible and share with you a very inspiring post of my favorite looks so far.

Stolen Closet

Aqui va una de las muchas ventajas de tener una hermana… no sólo tienes un clóset, sino DOS! Claro, cada quien tiene su estilo y conforme vamos creciendo y formando nuestra propia personalidad de repente un día te das cuenta que su estilo ya es muy diferente; aunque a veces encuentras ciertas piezas que se adaptan muy bien a tu estilo (y claro solo por el hecho de ser algo ajeno a tu closet) nacen unas ganas muy grandes de usarlas. El look de hoy (blusa y falda) pertenecen a mi hermana menor, cómo les menciono nuestro estilo no es tan parecido cómo antes (no se diga de las tallas… no cualquier cosa nos queda igual) pero éstas dos piezas son MUSTS de ésta temporada PLAID + FALDAS ASIMÉTRICAS. Las botas de que usé me encantan, y han sido mi primer opción de calzado durante todo el invierno, agregué mi bolsa holográfica y lentes cateye de ASOS (tienen envío gratis a México).

Últimamente mi fuente principal de inspiración es PINTEREST encuentras cosas padrisimas cada día. Mi cuenta es DeniseZarate.

Here goes one of the many advantages of having a sister … you have not only one closet, but TWO! Sure, each one has their own style and as we grow and forming our own personality suddenly one day you realize that your style it is already very different, although sometimes you find certain pieces that are well suited to your style (and of course only for the fact that something outside your closet) it grows a big desire to use them. The look of today (blouse and skirt) belongs to my younger sister, as I mention our style is not as similar as it used to be (not to mention the fit… we are not the exact same size anymore) but these two pieces are musts for the season PLAID  + ASYMMETRIC SKIRTS . I love these boots and they  have been my first choice of footwear during the winter, I added my holographic bag and cateye sunnies from ASOS.

Lately my biggest source of inspiration has been PINTEREST, you can find amazing stuff everyday. Mi account is DeniseZarate.

Que pasa justo ahora en tu vida? Sientes que todo va alineandose perfecto? Te encuentras lleno de preguntas sobre tu presente y futuro? A mi me pasan ambas, pero a la vez me siento demasiado agradecida por cada día que pasa. Bien dicen que la clave es vivir la vida como tu quieras y se logra con pequeñas decisiones cada día… desde algo tan sencillo como: que me voy a poner hoy?

Cómo ya les hemos contado, en un par de días les mostraremos la nueva imagen del blog, se van a enamorar! Una de mis metas o palabras clave con el inicio de año fue CALIDAD, aplicada en todo (fue de mucha ayuda con éstas semanas de rebaja, me dediqué a comprar sólo lo que en verdad necesitaba, me quedaba perfecto o realmente me enamoró), últimamente he estado buscando piezas de joyería muy minimalistas y de buena calidad… alguna sugerencia? El look de hoy es algo que ya tenía tiempo que quería probar, una chaqueta de mezclilla como blusa (éstas chaquetas tienen infinidad de usos) acompañada de piezas sencillas pero perfectas para formar el look. Como podrán notar sigo experimentando con mi cabello, uno pensaría que entre más cortito menos opciones tendrías de peinarlo, pero es todo lo contrario.

What happens in your life right now? Do you feel that everything is lining up perfect? Are you full of questions about present and future? I feel both, yet I feel too grateful for every day that passes. It is well said that the key is to live life as you want and is achieved with small decisions every day … from something as simple as: What am I  going to wear today?

As we have mentioned before  in a few days we will show the new look of the blog, you are going to love it! One of my goals or keywords with the beginning of the year was QUALITY, applied in everything (this has been really helpful with the last SALE weeks, I dedicated myself to buy only what I really needed,  was perfect for me or that fit me perfectly ) lately I’ve been looking for  minimalist and good quality jewelry pieces… any suggestions? Today’s look is something I’ve been wanting to try for a while now… the jean jacket as a shirt paired with simple yet perfect pieces to pull of the look. As you may notice I am experimenting with my hair, you would think that the shorter it is the less hairstyle options you would have, but it is quite the opposite.

Newness

Desde hace tiempo tenía en mente cortarme el cabello, por fin llegó el día y decidí aceptar la sugerencia del mejor estilista de la ciudad (Mandarina Salón) de teñirlo en un tono cobrizo; ésto era algo totalmente fuera de mi zona de confort (nunca había tenido un color en la parte superior de mi cabello) pero me gusta el cambio y probar cosas nuevas así que decidí hacerlo! Aun sigo intentando acostumbrarme a verme diferente al espejo, pero le sacaré provecho el tiempo que dure (siempre me gusta volver a mi tono natural y usar diferentes largos de cabello) Ustedes se hicieron algún cambio para iniciar el año?

El look de hoy es una mezcla muy fluida de texturas y colores, últimamente tengo una obsesión por la gama del color azul. Aprovechen al máximo ésos días que te permiten usar prendas de invierno y verano, así como aplicar capas en lo que usas.

I’ve been waiting to chop my hair for a while, finally the day came and I decided to accept the suggestion of the best stylist in town (Mandarina Salón)  of dye it in a copper tone, this was something totally out of my comfort zone (I had never had a color on top of my hair) but I like the change and trying new things so I decided to do it! I’m still trying to get used to look different in the mirror, but I’ll take advantage of it while it lasts (I always like to go back to my natural color and use different lengths of hair) Did you have makeovers to start the year fresh?

The look of today is a very fluid mix of textures and colors, lately I’ve been having an obsession with blue color palette. Don’t forget to make the most of those days that allow you to use winter and summer clothes and apply layers.

Overload

No podría haber pensado en una palabra mas perfecta para titular el post de hoy, mis días han tenido de común denominador ésta palabra en muchos aspectos. Sobrecarga de outfits que quieres usar… les preguntaría si les ha pasado, pero justo el fin de semana vi a una de mis amigas de instagram ¨sufriendo¨ de ésto así que lo tomaré como que a todos nos ha pasado; sumenle una sobrecarga de estaciones del año.. en el mismo día! (los que viven en Monterrey me comprenden totalmente) – lo toman como oportunidad para layering, para usar varios outfits o se quedan viendo su closet sin una idea de que ponerse?  Y mi tipica sobrecarga mental y de planes… El dia de ayer también tenia muchas piezas en mi closet que quería mostrarles, éstos zapatos (ya saben que es mi debilidad cuando me voy de compras) en mi opinión ,son lo mas sexy que tengo; los pantalones de piel es algo super reciente, no estoy segura porqué pero despues de tantos años de negarme a tener unos… de repente decidí probarmelos y me gustaron! Para verme un poco mas casual elegí una camisa polo (no es algo que compraría yo, de hecho es un regalo pero realmente me gusta… al menos en ésta tela y color) y accesorios vintage en color cafe. La verdad me encanto la combinacion de colores y el hecho que pude combatir la lluvia y mostrarles mi look. Ésta semana justo como a incios del año pasado, por fin me haré un corte en el cabello, desenme suerte!

I could not have thought of a more perfect word for today’s post title , my days have had this word in many ways  as common denominator. Overload of outfits you want to use … I would have asked you if this had happened to you, but just this weekend I saw one of my instagram friends ¨suffering¨ from this so I ‘ll take that as a yes; add season overload .. on the same day! ( those living in Monterrey fully understand me ) – do you take it as a layering opportunity, to use multiple outfits or stare at your closet without a clue of what to wear ? And my typical plans and mental overload … I had many pieces in my closet that I wanted to show you, these shoes (you know that is my weakness when I go shopping ) in my opinion, are the sexiest thing I have , the leather pants is something super recent , I’m not sure why but after so many years of refusing to have a pair… I suddenly decided to try them and I liked them! To look  a bit more casual I wore a polo shirt (definitely is not something I would buy , it is indeed a gift but I really like it … at least in this fabric and color) and vintage accessories in brown. I really love the color combo and the fact that I could fight the rain and show you my look. Just like last year…  I finally have an appointment with the hairstylist… I will finally have a haircut, wish me luck!

Wearing Vintage

No hace mucho solía ser una experta en comprar vintage y cosas de segunda mano, me encantaba! Muchas de las piezas mas preciadas de mi closet fueron resultado de ésto… claro, necesitas llenarte de tiempo, paciencia, inspiración y lo que menos llegas a necesitar es presupuesto! No se porqué pero poco a poco fui dejando ésto a un lado, falta de tiempo diría yo. La tunica que usé en éste post es una de ésas compras que hice, al ver una imagen en mi pinterest me acordé de que la tenía y decidí usarla (como toda pieza vintage, muchas veces ocupan alguna modificación.. ésta tunica era cerrada y yo la abrí para que tuviera el efecto de movimiento que quería, fuera de eso me encanta) Las invito a las que nunca lo han hecho (he conocido personas así) y a las que han dejado de hacerlo como yo, que vuelvan a esos días de búsqueda de piezas únicas para tu closet, yo prometo hacerlo pronto.

Not so long ago, I used to be an expert at vintage shopping or second hand pieces, I loved it! Many of my most precious pieces in my closet come from vintage stores, bazars and thrift stores… of course, you need to have time, patience, inspiration and sometimes the least you need is budget. I am not sure why, but I ended up leaving this aside (I guess lack of time). The tunic I wore in this post is one of those vintage shopping I have made, I remembered I had it when I saw an imagine on my pinterest  and I chose to wear it (as many vintage pieces, it needed some fix… this tunic was closed and I opened in order to have the movement effect I wanted) I invite all of you that have never done this (I know a few girls) and the ones that have stopped doing it like I have, to start going vintage shopping again, I will do it soon.

Just -Running-

Justo ahora que estaba apunto de comenzar el post, me doy cuenta que será el último del año. Es curioso como empezamos a valorar todo como ¨el último¨ cada vez que el año está a punto de terminar, siendo que cada día puede ser nuestra última oportunidad de vivir algo. Creo que es una muy buena idea adoptar estas tradiciones de fin de año, como una tradición de cada día… reflexionar, valorar y aprovechar cada día que tenemos de regalo. Me encuentro completamente agradecida con éste año que está apunto de terminar, por todos los momentos geniales y que viví y también por los no tan geniales. Espero su año haya sido algo memorable, y sé que el siguiente será incluso mejor para todos! A fin de cuentas, está en nosotros que tipo de año queremos vivir no?

Mi post no es nada especial en cuestión a el Año Nuevo o Navidad; lo único que puedo decir al respecto es que ésto use días antes de Navidad mientras seguía con mi búsqueda de regalos. Mis tenis NIKE son algo que tal vez no acostumbro compartir en el blog, pero sin duda son unos de mis zapatos favoritos, para salir casual (y bueno, hacer ejercicio a veces también ;) ). Shorts de piel de Oysho que tienen detalles que me encantan, mi bolsa de diario y un sueter militar con pedrería. Muy sportchic tal vez.

Just until I was about to start this post, I realized that this one it’s going to be my last one this year. It’s funny how we start looking at everything as ¨the last¨ every time the year is about to end, when reality is that each day can be our last chance to live something. I think it’s a really good idea to stop taking this tradition only at the end of the year and star to do this Every Day… reflect, treasure and take advantage of every day we have. I am completely grateful for this year about to end and for every great and not so great thing I’ve lived. I hope that your year had been memorable and I know next year will be amazing for all of us! After all, it’s on us what kind of year we want to live.

Copper Touch

Hola Lectores! Perdon por la falta de posts, pero ya tengo varios outfits listos para mostrarselos en los próximos días. Espero que estén pasando unos días increíbles!

Al parecer Ana Lucía y yo tuvimos una dosis muy parecida de inspiración, tonalidades de blanco y gris también fue lo que predominó mi look hace una semana. La mayoría de las veces elijo lo que usaré basada en una prenda como base, en éste caso fue éste top de ASOS que tiene unas mangas color cobre… la mejor opción (ya que la considero un poco llamativa) para usarla por primera vez era un look muy limpio y simple, dejando la atención en la parte superior. Unos lentes con reflejo en los mismos tonos (para todos los que me preguntan de donde son, los compré en un mercado.. me costaron como 30 pesos! no es tan difícil conseguirlos si sabes donde buscar ;) ) prendas en tonos blancos y grises y unos zapatos neutros. No tengan miedo a usar prendas muy llamativas, pueden equilibrar su look con las demás prendas que usen; yo terminé sintiendome muy agusto con el resultado y me pasé un día muy agradable.
