Leather – Runway inspo

Para terminar con la tendencia de la semana, he preparado un post basándome en las últimas pasarelas del MBFW de Londres y Milán, dónde encontré diseños con piel y piel sintética muy padres. Algunos son muy usables para el día a día y otros un poco más extravagantes pero decidí incluirlos porque todos me encantaron.

Creo que muchos de ellos nos pueden servir de inspiración para crear looks con piezas que ya tenemos o que podemos encontrar en varias tiendas.

To finish with this week’s trend, I have made a post, based on the latest runways from the MBFW in Milan and London where I found pretty cool stuff, made with leather and synthetic leather. Some of them very wearable some others a little more extravagant, but I decided to include them because at the end I fell inlove with the extravagant items too.
I think these looks are a great inspiration to create outfits from pieces we already have or can find in a lot of retail stores.

LEATHER SKIRT

Éste es el último look de la semana con la tendencia de PIEL. Elegí usar una mini falda negra (de mi hermanita) y combinarla con una blusa de botones verde militar. Como complemento, mis tennis New Balance que realmente se han convertido en un básico en mi clóset, accesorios sencillos y lentes retro.

This is the last look of the week regarding LEATHER trend. I chose a black mini skirt (my sister’s actually) and a military green button-down shirt. To complement the look, I wore my New Balance sneakers that have become my basic go to shoes and simple jewelry plus retro sunnies.

SPRING/SUMMER TREND | ART INSPIRED

Aquí les va una de las principales tendencias para ésta primavera/verano, al parecer los diseñadores se inspiraron en obras de arte y graffitis callejeros para dar color a sus colecciones. Si eres de un estilo atrevido no tendras ningún problema en comenzar a llenar tu closet de color y estampados así como usar un look total de ésta tendencia; si tienes un estilo mas conservador no te preocupes, no se trata de que uses algo literalmente como lo viste en la pasarela… basta que uses algún accesorio o prenda de la tendencia, junto con piezas básicas o mas sobrias y listo!

Here goes one of the key trends for this spring/summer, apparently the designers were inspired by street art and graffiti to color their collections.  If you have a bold style you wont have any problem to start filling your closet of color and prints as well as wearing a total look of this trend, but if you have a more conservative style do not worry, your are not supposed to be wearing exactly what you see on the catwalk … you can just use an accessory or garment with this trend, along with basic or more sober pieces and you are ready!

Leather sleeves + white

Éste es el segundo look de nuestra nueva dinámica.
Para quienes aún no saben sobre ella, les explico rápido; vamos a estar compartiendo tendencias específicas por semana y la manera en la cual cada una de nosotras la aplica en sus outfits. Así, ustedes pueden ver diversas opciones y adaptar a su estilo la que más se empareje con su personalidad y gustos.

La PIEL es la tendencia de esta primer semana y la manera en la cual la aplique fue en los pequeños detalles de mi blazer (mangas, cuello, solapas, etc). Además de estar presente en mi bolso y zapatos (por si no lo habían notado, mi juego favorito ultimamente).
Quise aprovechar estos últimos días frescos para utilizarla, aunque en realidad como había mencionado Denise la principal ventaja de esta tendencia es que esta presente cada estación por lo que no deberás preocuparte en que época del año estas vistiendo piel. Cómo muestra de que no pasa de moda, he preparado para mi próximo post los mejores looks en piel del London Fashion Week.

This is the second look of our new post initiave.
For those who still do not know about it, let me explain: we will be sharing specific trends per week and the way each of us applies them into our outfits. In that way, you´ll be able to have different options and get inspired by the one that matches your personality and style.
LEATHER is the first trend, and I applied it in the little details of my blazer (sleeves , collar, lapels, etc.) . Besides from being the material of my bag and shoes (if you did not noticed, they have been my favorite duo lately).
I used this blazer, taking advantage of the last cool days of the season, but actually like Denise mentioned, the main benefit of the leather pieces is that this trend is present all the seasons, so you won´t need to worry about whether you are in or out using it. Just to prove you this trend is timeless I have prepared the best leather looks of London Fashion week in my next post.

LEATHERX2 + FAUX FUR

This is how I wore it…

Comenzamos con una de mis tendencias favoritas ya que existen un sinfin de piezas de piel y formas de usarlas. En el look de hoy decidí no sólo usar una sino dos prendas con ésta tendencia, la chaqueta de piel es un MUST en cualquier armario y después de usar varias veces los pantalones de piel CLICK (tiempo después de que iniciara la tendencia) me atrevo a decir que éstos también lo son! Otra pieza importante en mi look es la bolsa de pelaje color turquesa obscuro, como lo mencione en mi último post CLICK los accesorios y prendas con pelaje están en tendencia! Agregué capas sin sentirme muy abrigada usando un crop top sobre un suéter con estampado de piel de vibora (los crop tops también son permitidos en invierno!) Unos zapatos en pico rojos para hacer un poco de contraste con el look. Cual es su prenda favorita?

 We started with one of my favorite trends because there are a lot of leather pieces and ways of using them. In today’s look I decided not only to use one, but two garments with this trend, the leather jacket is a MUST in any closet and after wearing several times leather pants CLICK (after a long time the trend was set) I dare to say that they are also! Another important piece in my closet is the dark turquoise bag, as I mentioned in my last post  CLICK accessories and fur garments are trending! I added layers without feeling very warm using a crop top over a sweater with snakeskin print (crop tops are also allowed in winter!) I added a red pair of shoes to do a bit of contrast with the look. What is your favorite garment?

NYFW Streetstyle

NYFW ha terminado, y como siempre nos ha dejado un montón de inspiración, sueños de poseer alguna de las prendas que mostraron los diseñadores y esa sensación de nostalgia por no haber podido asistir a las pasarelas o mínimo haber estado en Nueva York esos días y literalmente respirar moda.

Como siempre mis favoritos fueron 3.1 Phillip Lim, Maison Martin Margiela, Alexander Wang, y Dion Lee con su increíble minimalismo y prendas estructuradas.  Dentro de este estilo encontré que me encantó Nonoo (que antes no conocía).
De igual manera quedé enamorada de las texturas y estampados de Proenza Schouler, J. Crew (que en lo persona me encanta porque son piezas super usables), Band of Outsiders, Rag & Bone y Tory Burch, entre otros.

Una de las mejores cosas del fashion week a mi parecer, ocurre en las calles de la ciudad donde se esta llevando a cabo, en las que puedes ver a todos aquellos apasionados de la moda usando sus mejores atuendos y ¿Porqué no?, yendo un poco más allá mostrando looks extravagantes que no se ven a diario, al final todo esta permitido en la semana de la moda!

NYFW is over, and as happens every year, we ended up with a lot of inspiration, the desire of owning one of the pieces shown on the shows and that melancholic feeling for being unable to attend the event or at least have been in the city those days.

My all time favorites: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Maison Martin Margiela , Alexander Wang, Dion Lee with their incredible minimalism and their perfectly structured garnments. Also following this style I fell inlove with Nonoo (which I did not knew).

On the other hand, I liked a lot the textures and prints of Proenza Schouler, J. Crew, Band of Outsiders, Rag & Bone, Tory Burch, among others.

One of the best things about fashion week, from my point of view happens on the streets of the city where it´s taking place, you can see all those fashionistas wearing their best clothes and also the rarest ones, at the end everything is allowed in the fashion week!

Simple Sweatshirt

La semana pasada les compartí un look de falda usando de top una sudadera gris, la cual compré literalmente en un supermercado. Esta semana el frío tan repentino me obligó a usarla de nuevo, y aproveché para mostrarles otra manera de crear un outfit con ella.
Las piezas básicas tienen un sin fin de ventajas: precio, versatilidad, accesibilidad, variedad, y la más importante atemporalidad (Si es que existe este termino).

Use diferentes tonos  de grises así como de negros. Aunque simple , como la mayoría de mis últimos looks, encontré muy divertido mezclar diversas texturas (terciopelo, algodón, charol, etc) .

Que pasen un excelente San Valentín con quien sea que lo pasen y muchas felicidades a mi hermosa hermana que cumple años!

Last week, I published an outfit post wearing a skirt and a basic gray sweatshirt which I literally found on a supermarket. This week, because of the cold weather, I saw myself forced to use it again, so I took advantage of the opportunity to show you another way to create an outfit with it.
Basic pieces really have a great number of benefits: Good price, versatility, accessibility, and most important timelessness (if that´s even a word)

I used different shades of gray and black. And although the complete outfit it´s simple, I think it was fun mixing different textures (velvet, cotton, patent, etc).

TRENDING | MULES

Quien no ha visto esta tendencia? Los mules o zuecos están de vuelta pero con un giro increíblemente chic y minimalista. Es exactamente de lo que les hablaba hace unos días, todo tendencia vuelve… La clave es como lo combinas y los detalles de la pieza. Aún y cuando te recuerdan tus años dorados, o una época en tu infancia, no se ven anticuados. Y para probarlo, les dejo algunos atuendos que encontré para que vean la variedad de posibilidades y maneras de usarlos. 

Por ejemplo, los negros de la foto de arriba, son de Zara, así que si estás considerando comprar unos, toma algunos tips de cómo éstas fashionistas los están llevando y recuerda atreverte a experimentar.

Who has not seen yet this trend? The mules or clogs are back but with an incredible chic and minimalistic twist. This is exactly what I was talking about a few days ago, everything comes back… The key is how you wear them and the details on the piece. Even though they might remind you of you golden years, or a period of your childhood, I don’t see them as old fashioned. And to prove this, I give you some inspiration looks for you to see the variety of posibilities to wear them.

For example, the black ones on the above picture are from Zara, so if you are considering buying yourself a pair, take some tips from this fashion experts on how to wear them and remember to trying everything out.
