Leather sleeves + white

Éste es el segundo look de nuestra nueva dinámica.
Para quienes aún no saben sobre ella, les explico rápido; vamos a estar compartiendo tendencias específicas por semana y la manera en la cual cada una de nosotras la aplica en sus outfits. Así, ustedes pueden ver diversas opciones y adaptar a su estilo la que más se empareje con su personalidad y gustos.

La PIEL es la tendencia de esta primer semana y la manera en la cual la aplique fue en los pequeños detalles de mi blazer (mangas, cuello, solapas, etc). Además de estar presente en mi bolso y zapatos (por si no lo habían notado, mi juego favorito ultimamente).
Quise aprovechar estos últimos días frescos para utilizarla, aunque en realidad como había mencionado Denise la principal ventaja de esta tendencia es que esta presente cada estación por lo que no deberás preocuparte en que época del año estas vistiendo piel. Cómo muestra de que no pasa de moda, he preparado para mi próximo post los mejores looks en piel del London Fashion Week.

This is the second look of our new post initiave.
For those who still do not know about it, let me explain: we will be sharing specific trends per week and the way each of us applies them into our outfits. In that way, you´ll be able to have different options and get inspired by the one that matches your personality and style.
LEATHER is the first trend, and I applied it in the little details of my blazer (sleeves , collar, lapels, etc.) . Besides from being the material of my bag and shoes (if you did not noticed, they have been my favorite duo lately).
I used this blazer, taking advantage of the last cool days of the season, but actually like Denise mentioned, the main benefit of the leather pieces is that this trend is present all the seasons, so you won´t need to worry about whether you are in or out using it. Just to prove you this trend is timeless I have prepared the best leather looks of London Fashion week in my next post.

Simple Sweatshirt

La semana pasada les compartí un look de falda usando de top una sudadera gris, la cual compré literalmente en un supermercado. Esta semana el frío tan repentino me obligó a usarla de nuevo, y aproveché para mostrarles otra manera de crear un outfit con ella.
Las piezas básicas tienen un sin fin de ventajas: precio, versatilidad, accesibilidad, variedad, y la más importante atemporalidad (Si es que existe este termino).

Use diferentes tonos  de grises así como de negros. Aunque simple , como la mayoría de mis últimos looks, encontré muy divertido mezclar diversas texturas (terciopelo, algodón, charol, etc) .

Que pasen un excelente San Valentín con quien sea que lo pasen y muchas felicidades a mi hermosa hermana que cumple años!

Last week, I published an outfit post wearing a skirt and a basic gray sweatshirt which I literally found on a supermarket. This week, because of the cold weather, I saw myself forced to use it again, so I took advantage of the opportunity to show you another way to create an outfit with it.
Basic pieces really have a great number of benefits: Good price, versatility, accessibility, and most important timelessness (if that´s even a word)

I used different shades of gray and black. And although the complete outfit it´s simple, I think it was fun mixing different textures (velvet, cotton, patent, etc).

Windowpane skirt

Por fin Viernes y para acabar la semana les dejo un look que use el fin de semana pasado, (cuando el clima aún lo permitía)

Ultimamente trato de hacer mis looks lo mas sencillos posibles, me inspiro en muchas personas, sitios, partes, Pinterest es mi fuente  favorita y mi actual obsesión es Elin Kling, siempre me ha atraido su estilo sobre todo por lo elegante y  chic que puede hacer ver cualquier prenda básica.

Ustedes tienen alguna fuente de inspiración que los mantenga obsesionados últimamente?

Perfect Combination

Esto es lo que yo llamo una combinación perfecta: elementos muy básicos, mezclado creando un look muy completo.

– Blusa blanca: Pieza esencial que todos deben tener en su armario. Económica y fácil de encontrar.
– Falda negra tipo lápiz: EL mejor color, el mejor corte en una falda. También es muy fácil de conseguir y puedes encontrar miles de estilos, como la mía, que tiene una capa de malla por encima.
– Botas Chunky: El mejor contraste en cualquier outfit. Puede ser cualquier estilo de botas, siempre y cuando te queden bien y te gusten.

This is what I call a perfect combination: pretty basic items, mixed up creating a very complete outfit.

– White shirt: Essential piece that everyone should have in their closet. Affordable and easy to find.
– Black pencil skirt: Best color, best cut on a skirt. Also very easy to get and you can find tons of variations, like mine which has a mesh layer over it.
– Chunky boots: The best contrast on any outfit. Could be any style of boots as long as looks good on you.

All Loose

Ultimamente, mi closet ha sido victima de mi reciente atracción por las prendas holgadas sobretodo hablando de jeans y pantalones. Amo lo cómodos que son y lo fácil que puedes cambiar de casual a formal. Tengo más de un par que meuro por mostrarles, incluyendo los que uso en estas fotografías. El color, la tela, el corte y la forma en que me quedan son perfectos para mi gusto.

Además en este outfit estoy probando algo nuevo para mi, ya que siempre había pensado que si una parte de tu look es holgada o suelta la otra debe ser ajustada para no verte muy cuadrada o sin figura, pero esta vez me llamo la atención hacer lo contrario y decidí usar prendas muy sueltas. Al final el resultado me gusto y fue de lo más cómodo usar este tipo de ropa.

Deberían de intentarlo, prendas sueltas y capas para invierno!

Lately my closet has been a victim of my recent attraction to very loose clothing especially jeans and trousers. I love how comfortable they are and how easy you can switch from casual to formal. I can not wait to show you a couple of them, including the ones that I´m using on these pictures. The color, the fabric, the cut and the way I they fit me are perfect for me.
I’m also trying something new for me, since I have always thought that if a part of your look is loose the other one must be tight so your body don´t look without shape or with a square shape. But this time I decided to do exactly the opposite and wear only loose clothes. I really liked the result and it was very comfortable.

You should try, loose clothing and layers for winter!

The Basic Needs II: A Trip to the Beach

Hey readers, ready for the beach? With school being over and the city warming I can definitely see myself spending some time laying in the sand, with the  sun warming up my skin, listening to the waves softly fade into the shore while enjoying a fresh drink. Well, unfortunately for me, that’s not coming soon, but for all of you who can… it’s time to get ready.

A friend actually asked for this Guide to Basics for the Beach and I actually thought it’d be cool to help everyone prepare for their trips. So, are you ready? Let’s start.

Hola lectores, ¿listos para la playa? Con el fin de cursos y la ciudad calentándose cada vez más puedo verme completamente pasando tiempo recostada en la arena, con el sol calentando mi piel, escuchando las olas desaparecer en la orilla de la playa mientras disfruto de una bebida fresa. Bueno, desafortunadamente para mí, eso no llegará pronto, pero para todos ustedes que pueden… es hora de prepararse.

Una amiga me pidió esta Guía Básica para la Playa y de hecho me di cuenta que era una súper buena idea y de pasada podía ayudarlos a prepararse para sus viajes. Entonces, ¿están listos? Comencémos.

THE LIST

1. Swimsuits: There’s no point in going to the beach without them right? Make sure you get 2 or 3 so you can switch them through the week and let them dry. A tip? Try to mix and match them, this way you’ll end up with more than two. Choose between the best fits for you, there are plenty of guides on the internet on how to choose your swimsuit type depending on your shape. // Trajes de baño: No tiene sentido ir a la playa sin ellos, ¿no? Asegúrate de llevar 2 ó 3 para que puedas intercalarlos durante la semana y permitas que se sequen. ¿Un tip? Trata de combinarlos entre ellos, de ésta manera terminaras con muchas más opciones que solo dos. Elige bien el tipo de traje de baño, hay miles de guías en internet que te pueden ayudar a seleccionar el que mejor te quede en base a tu forma.

2. Cover up: This depends totally of you. You can choose from shorts and a shirt, to a see-through dress or a wrapping cover-up. Make sure you feel comfortable in it in case you play volleyball or go for a walk on the town. // Pareo: Puedes elegir desde shorts y una playera, un vestido translúcido o un pareo. Recuerda estar cómoda con él por si juegs volley en la playa o vas a dar un paseo al pueblo.

3. Beach Bag: Remember to get a bag to keep all your important stuff and to protect your devices from the sun, water and sand. Make sure to fit the towel, sun block and water in it. // Bolsa de Playa: Recuerda llevar un bolso para guarder todas tus cosas importantes y proteger tus gadgets del sol, agua y arena. Asegúrate de que quepa tu toalla, bloqueador y agua en él.

4. Towel: Look for a cool print full of colors and beach vibes such as palm trees or go for a matchy look with your swimsuit. // Toalla: Busca un estampado padre lleno de colores y con sensación playera o ve por algo que combine con tu traje de baño.

5. Sunblock and lip balm: This is the number 1 must have. Don’t dare to go out without it unless you basically don’t care getting sunburned or worse. Choose at least a 30 SPF sun block  and apply it constantly. If you want to get a great tan make sure to scrub your skin during 3 days before and I have proven that wearing a sun block actually makes me get a decent tan within the week I spend in the sun. // Protector solar y humectante de labios: Ésta es el primera cosa que debes empacar. No te expongas al sol sin ellos a menos que no te importe arderte o peor. Elige uno con FPS 30 mínimo y aplícalo constantemente. Si quieres broncearte mejor, exfolia tu piel durante los 3 días previos a tu viaje y yo he comprobado que usando un protector solar en lugar de bronceador, me deja un bronceado mucho más parejo y duradero.

6. Sunglasses: You’ll be fine with one pair but make them a statement. // Lentes de sol: Puedes llevar solo unos pero asegúrate que sean unos muy a la moda.

7. Sandals: Take one pair you can get wet to wear during the day and a dressy pair to go out at night. This way you’ll look cute and comfortable at the same time. You can always choose to take a pair of heels too. // Sandalias: Lleva unas que puedas mojar para usarlas durante el día y unas más arregladas para la noche. Te verás súper bien y estarás muy cómoda. Siempre puedes llevar tacones si así lo deseas, nunca están de más.

8. Maxi dress: For a diner, a bar or a show a maxi dress is a must for summer. Choose a light fabric to keep yourself fresh. // Maxi vestido: Para una cena, un bar o un show, el maxi vestido es un básico éste verano. Elige una tela delgada para que te mantengas fresca.

9. Water bottle: You must keep yourself hydrated and not only with alcohol, so carry a wáter bottle like this one that keeps your drink fresh longer and have some water while you’re in the sun. // Botella con agua: Debes mantenerte hidratada y no me refiero con alcohol, así que carga una botella con agua como ésta que mantiene tu bebida fría por más tiempo y toma suficiente mientras estés en el sol.

10. Crop top and a skirt: This is the perfect moment to wear crop tops and matchy skirts, look for cute clothes that show your tan and your style. // Blusa corta y falda: Éste es el momento perfecto para usar blusas cortas y faldas combinadas. Busca ropa padre que te permita enseñar tu broneado y estilo al mismo tiempo.

11. Hat: This is totally optional and will dependo n your style and taste but it definitely makes you look so chic. // Sombrero:Éste es totalmente opcional y dependerá de tu estilo y gusto pero definitivamente te hace ver muy chic.

The Basic Needs: Shopping Guide

For some time now, I planned on doing a basic shopping guide for all of you who think, “oh I bought this but I don’t really know how to wear it”, or “I can’t mix this pant with anything in my wardrobe”. Here’s the thing, for most of us, shopping is like going to paradise. While you’re there, so many options pop into your sight and once you’ve tried on half of the store, your attention is driven towards the vivid and trendy pieces. But what happens with all the basics? Well, while they are considered initially by you while shopping, they are ignored when taking the decision to select only 5 things from the 30 you had in your hands.

Here is a general guide on what items are KEY in your closet. Even though you’re short, tall, skinny, curvy, pale, tanned… or any of the missing, this list will work for you. Remember always the advise that Denise gave you in her post Smart Shopping and consider all this to get rid of the problem of having “nothing to wear”.

Durante mucho tiempo, había planeado hacer una guía de compras básicas para todos ustedes que piensan, “bueno, compré ésto pero realmente no se como usarlo” ó “no puedo combinar éste pantalón con nada de lo que tengo en mi clóset”. Así está la situación, para la mayoría de nosotros, ir de compras es como entrar al paraíso. Mientras estás ahí, tantas opciones llaman tu atención, y una vez que te probaste la mitad de la tienda, tu atención se dirige completamente a las piezas coloridas y en tendencia. ¿Pero qué pasa con todos los básicos? Bueno, mientras fueron considerados al principio por ti mientras comprabas, fueron ignorados cuando tomabas la decisipon de elegir 5 cosas de las 30 que tenías en las manos. 

Aquí les va una guía general en cuales son los elementos CLAVE para tu clóset. Aún y cuando seas alta, baja, delgada, con curvas, blanca, bronceada… o cualquiera de las características faltantes, ésta lista te servirá. Recuerda seguir los consejos que les dió Denise en su post Smart Shopping y junto con ésto, desaparecerán sus problemas de “no tengo nada que ponerme”.

THE LIST

1. White, black and gray t-shirt: This is a must to get any outfit casual and comfy. // Camiseta blanca, negra y gris: Es súper necesaria para obtener looks casuales y cómodos.

2. Black heels: Open toe, closed or strappy, the point is you have some simple black shoes that match with everything. // Zapatos altos negros: Peep-toe, cerrados o de trabas, el punto es que tengas unos zapatos negros simples que combinen con todo.

3.Trench Coat: This will get you out of a lot of problems in a very chic way. // Gabardina: Te sacará de muchos problemas conservando el estilo.

4. Clean cut denim: You’ll need two pair of pants. Dark and clean blue and black. // Mezcilla de corte simple: Necesitarás dos pantalónes. Uno azul marino sin deslavadas y uno negro.

5. Black and white button downs: Match with everything. // Blusa de botones blanca y negra: Van con todo.

6. Denim shirt: Look for a soft and loose fabric. // Blusa de mezcilla: Busca una de tela sueva y con caída.

7. Little black dress: It can ALWAYS save you. Choose any style that fits you best. // Vestido negro: SIEMPRE te podrá salvar. Elige el estilo que más te favorezca.

8. White tennis shoes: For walks, parks, or tourinsting, this are perfect. There are lots of different brands to choose from: Superga, Keds, Converse… // Tennis blancos: Para caminatas, parques, turistear, son perfectos. Hay muchas marcas para elegir como: Superga, Keds, Converse…

9. Black tote: They can carry everything. // Bolso negro: Pueden cargar con lo que sea.

10. Denim shorts or black skirt: You can choose from these depending on which one you like most, or get both. Remember not to get them too short so you can move around comfortably. // Puedes elegir una de estas dependiendo de qué te guste más, o las dos. Recuerda no comprarlos tan cortos para que te puedas mover agusto.
